Sharp Microelectronics of the Americas Announces Strong 2 Technology Standard for Industrial Displays

San Francisco and Camas, Wash., June 6, 2006: At the Society for Information Display 2006 International Symposium Seminar and Exhibition, Sharp today introduces Strong 2, Sharp’s new performance standard for its industrial Amorphous Silicon Liquid Crystal Displays (a-Si LCDs). With this new standard, Sharp gives OEM customers assurance that Strong 2 LCDs meet greater performance requirements in brightness, contrast, temperature range, and shock/vibration.

Sharp is currently offering four Strong 2 displays — the10.4 inch LQ104V1DG61 and LQ104V1LG61 along with the 12.1 inch LQ121S1DG61 and LQ121S1LG61. Read the rest of this entry »

Sharp opens new LCD TV factory for Europe

Sharp Electronics President Mikio Katayama and representatives of the Polish government have today opened the technology company’s new LCD TV factory at a formal ceremony. Poland Sharp is now manufacturing Aquos LCD TVs for the booming European market in Torun.

Europe is currently the largest market for flat screen TVs. Over 40 per cent of all TVs marketed around the world are sold here, and European demand rose by 50 per cent in 2007 to 27 million LCD TVs. Sharp is therefore backing Europe as the market of the future and will be launching the production of LCD TVs for the European market in Torun, Poland with immediate effect. Energy saving while sleeping: the new LCD line-up from Sharp

SHARP offers a broad range of both series and switching regulators with multifunction features including on/off control. The series regulators are Low Drop Out (LDO) and include the SOT-23-5, SOT-23-L, SOT-89, SC-63, TO-220, TO-263, TO-92, TO-220, and TO-3P ranging from 180 mA to 10 A output current. Sharp unveils the touch-screen Totem 46-inch LCD display

Sharp Electronics (UK) Ltd unveiled its Totem - a joint information display solution conceived between SUK and technology installer 10 Squared - at Screen Expo earlier this month.
